| That's tasty man. I had a straight 6 202 in the little truck I have, but the way fuel prices are going I think I'll be riding my bike to school from on. Probably gonna run a 4 banger in the T I'm doing at the moment. | |

| Nice truck man! You could set up a small stage on the back and drive yourself from town to hamlet playing for the people! | |

You sold the ACTUAL socks!!??? I know you were buying the 20 packs of socks in the yoof section at Modell's, wearing them for a few straight days and selling them off as the authentic socks. But I had no idea that you went and parted with the real deals! Such sads in these stockingless times... Barefoot in NY, Budge

Probably gonna run a 4 banger in the T I'm doing at the moment. Hey Doesy, Runnin a holden 202? May as well run a 253-308 V8. The 202 ain't the most economical motor, that's why they race them. Get a V8, it'll sound better too! Cheers Pete. P.S. Great truck!

| Yeah, I looked hard at putting a 308 or 253 in it but decided against it, because it seemed everyone had one. So I put the 202 in it to be different.
You're right it isn't economical but it is good for Torque if I'm hauling a body with a motor on the back.

| Yeah a 27 coupe, was actually the first car I ever bought. About 3 months after I started working part-time at a hot rod shop I was 13 and got the shell for 300 bucks off my boss. He'd bought it in from Long Beach and changed his mind about what he wanted to build. The truck was my grandads but he never finished it.
I'm still doing school at the moment so the T is in bits and pieces. Running it on an A chassis with original A model 4 banger. Bored the engine for oil pressure, overhead valve conversion. I'm gonna channel the body down over the chassis and lower it. Few other hot rod mods. 59 Mercury Diff, Ford F-100 brakes.

| After all these years I can not understand how people can afford a Hot Rod. Doesn't it costs thousands of dollars to fixed them up? I mean, I got a proper salary and so does my wife. Is it low cost to make a hot rod in the US (or Down Under) or do you rob banks or something? How do you support your family unless you are single... | |

| Yeah you're not wrong patrick it is really expensive. There are ways around it though... legal ways (no bank robberies on my part ) I'm 17 so I don't have to pay for all that much, cept for petrol and if I go out at night. But I've been working at a hot rod place for 4 nearly 5 years so I do all my own work on my cars so theres no labour costs. And I can get parts either direct off the supplier or off cars we have lying around at the workshop. So it's not so much a cost thing but a time thing. Plus if you know what you're doing you can fix something up to driving condition and just drive around in your work in progress. | |

| very expensive, especially without a proper salary! I've had my '55 Buick going on 9 years and i have only driven it for about 3. I guess its all in priorities and luck. I was lucky in the way i came into owning my car. Doing the work saves tons of money. the best thing is buying parts one at a time and saving them until the time is right then you got put it all together! | |

| speaking of needing money to have a hotrod, when you finally spend a fortune and all the blood, sweat and tears to get one (I've wanted one since I first got my hands on a straycats lp) other bills come due and you have to sell it to make rent. Mine is now on the block: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=37007582 as is this cab: | |

| Hey Radioclash
I love the stripes on the ibby. I'm thinking about doing mine like that. Do you mind telling what the cost was and is it paint or pinstripe?

The striping was done by a young buddy of mine from central Georgia. It's hand-striped with One-Shot sign enamel and a 00 Mack Striping brush. I paid about $80 for him to stripe it, which is pretty fair for a 2-color job. It's about what I'd charge to stripe something. The guy's name is Chastin, you can probably look him up online. Oh yeah, when he striped this guitar, he was SIXTEEN years old. He's a pinstriping prodigy. Seriously.
