| Well i just posted this topic because i have never ever heard the "How long you wanna live anyway" live! I dont even know if the Cats ever played this great song live? I think it will be just "wild and crazy" if they play it on their farewell concerts!
If i had to pick- choose five songs that i would like to hear live (quite difficult decission...) i guess that will be: 1. How long you wanna live anyway 2. Wild saxophone 3. Built for speed 4. Rockabilly rules ok 5. Elvis on velvet
What about you?
PS. Looking forward for Summer Jamboree!!!

| Since I won't be there, pick the most suitable venue for filming, and then invite some supporting musicians - a doo wop group, a sax player, a keyboard wiz, Dave Edmunds, might as well see if Robert Plant has a free weekend... and film that show for a DVD!
With the harmonies in place, proper versions of the following could be showcased:
I Won't Stand In Your Way - even with the doo-wop singers - it would be awfully taxing on Brian's 49-year-old vocal range, but I'd bet a suitable arrangement could be done where one of the harmony singers could take the higher notes.
Mystery Train Kept a-Rollin' - this song simply couldn't be performed without those Jordanaire-type harmonies. And Brian would have to invest some time into re-learning the lyrics.
Lookin' Better Every Beer
Sax-n-Keys could make the following show-stoppers a reality:
Lonely Summer Nights Wild Saxophone Lucky Charm Look at That Cadillac
Obviously, none of the above will happen, as it would require a significant amount of rehearsal time, especially for a one-off show with guests. Hopefully they would consider inviting Dave Edmunds along for some of the UK dates. Shoot, Brussels and Holland sold out already. Why not reward them with some killer extras?
But with Rant-n-Rave in the player this week, I can't help but think the all-time best song to do on a "Farewell" tour would be:
How Long You Wanna Live Anyway?
Whatever happens this summer, somebody document the darn thing! It's gonna be wild!

PS. Looking forward for Summer Jamboree!!! Wild Sax may be difficult with no sax player, but wouldn't it be wicked if Mel Collins turned up (with Geraint Watkins, Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe )... Hmmm. here are my 5 songs in no particular order 1, Runaway Boys 2, Runaway Boys 3, Runaway Boys 4, Runaway Boys 5, Runaway Boys Ahhh come on. I'm a product of the 80's.. Mikey xx

| My all time favorite song Sexy & 17 My One Desire How Long You Wanna Live, Anyway Something's Wrong With my Radio Baby Blue Eyes
Wild card: something totally unexpected and out of genre that we've never heard from the guys before, like when BSO covered Wings, Queen, etc. and made it rock.

| No one can choose only five... its impossible!!!
Someone said "Crawl up and die"... another said "Gonna ball"... "Little miss prissy" ... "Drink that bottle down"... "Rockabilly rules ok"... and almost EVERYONE said "HOW LONG YOU WANNA LIVE ANYWAY"!!!
Well i guess they will have to play more than 3 hours per show to leave everyone happy... are they sponcored by Gatorade Powerade Lucozade or something..?
Hey, what about... "Rebels rule" or "Rockabilly rebel"... revolution!
PS. Cant wait for SUMMER JAMBOREE!

| As far as Brussels is concerned -and apart from the obvious ones- :
- Ubangi stomp - Crawl up & die - Blast off - Slip slip slippin' in - Nine lives - Can't go back to Memphis
Oh and you know what? Bring on a string section and play the amazing Jade Idol! Heaven!

| Dare I suggest this, but how about...
A break in the regular set, and have a short acoustic set (3-4 songs) with Brian on an acoustic guitar, Lee on a smaller bass/2nd acoustic guitar, and Jim on maroccas/tambourine/brushes.
Some songs that would work well in this format:
Sammy Davis City (not technically a Cats song) I Won't Stand in Your Way My Heart is a Liar
AND/OR Any of the tunes off of Rockin By Myself

| I have read these posts back to front. Daft.
I agree with Rick (Again)
Allways fancied a Stray Cats and friends type show.
Back in 2004,i really thought we were gonna get a few guests up on stage,i saw Robert Plant enjoy himself, at the shepards pie empire. Having been crushed, for 2 nights prior, and worried my ileostomy bag would burst! (you gotta be near the action!) I watched in comfort (with Dave) from the Balcony.
Dave and i were thinking.................No Brian, dont waste your gee-tar,on that idiot!
