I went to my first GT show last week....AND I LOVED IT! I will definately go back and see him again. He gets that wicked look in his eye when he's singing and he's such a ham (in a charming sort of way, of course!).

| Billy Idol Charlotte, NC on the Rebel Yell tour in '84 at age 14. Opener was the Pressure Boys. Second show was openers Fabulous Thunderbirds (with Jimmy Vaughan) and Brian Setzer & the Radiation Ranch, Norfolk, Va 1986. Third show was back to Charlotte for Billy Idol's Whiplash Smile tour with The Cult Electric tour. After that it gets a bit fuzzy.
I have been very blessed!

| My first concert was Dizzy Gillespie at age 7, 1989. My mom tells me he played to our side of the stage for most of the night... Then, I don't know how, but my parents got backstage and I have this... Then he gave me a kiss on the cheek and we left! Cori | |

| "The Blues Brothers" at Red Rocks in 1980. I was 16. Me and 3 guys from school were alowed to drive with no parents 60 miles to the venue with an older 18 year old brother as driver and chaperone. We split 2 quarts of Miller High Life between the four of us on the drive up, which was also a first. I can't believe my parents let me go. Different times I guess.
Now that I'm the Dad, my oldests' first was "Stray Cats/Pretenders/ZZ top" at Red rocks last year. Maybe some day she'll say it proudly on a message board. Now, due to Pretenders wanna-be hippy fans, she knows what pot smells like. Nothing sadder than old hippys.

| My first concert at age 7 or 8 was when my parents took me to the Northwest Washington fair to see Johnny Cash. I dont remember it really, but still kinda cool. When I was 10 my uncle took me to see AC/DC open for ELO *ithink* I don't really remember that either. My first show I went to on my own was in 1982 when I went to see the Clash open for the Who at the Kingdome in seattle. THAT, I remember clearly. It was a life changing moment. Less than a year later I went to san bernadino california for the US festival where I saw the Clash and the Stray Cats on the same day! yup. that weekend pretty much clinched the demise of any chance at a normal life for me. I've been playing music ever since.

| Robert Cray and Buddy Guy, Live at the Enmore Theater in Sydney.
Back in 2006.
A great night, Buddy came out into the crowd and played a solo literally in front of me. I could feel the heat coming off him. I was scared stiff at the size of him and the sound he was making with that guitar.

| I went through a Country music phase. My first concert was by an artist named Ricky Van Shelton. He did perform a really good version of Elvis's Wear My Ring Around Your Neck. So I guess deep down I was still yearning to rediscover Rockabilly. It was November of 1992 at The Front Row Theater in Cleveland. I attended country music concerts for the next 6 years when suddenly in 1998 a lot of folks started to Jump, Jive, an Wail. Never did I look back. | |

| Yeah, pity this was in the guitar section. 1. The Darts, Hammersmith Odean sometime in '78 2. The Clash, (maybe Hammersmith Odean sometime'79) Then I was cured - Stray Cats, New years eve 1980, The Venue. Seem to recall that girlfriend at the time was a hairdresser and had got free tickets through some hair product? | |

| I can trump Darts in the guilty pleasures stakes - my first was Showaddywaddy at the Southampton Gaumont.
By the way, Darts have reformed and are playing the London 100 club in July.

| You guys have got nothing to be embarrassed about. I actually think my first gig was Dana in Blackpool in the 70's . I remember a guest appearance by Leo Sayer playing Blues harmonica. I didn't know what music i liked that early on, but i DO remember being blown away by Leo Sayers harmonica, even in '75 or whenever it was...
First gig i 'consciously' attended was the Jets at Clifton Hall in Rotherham. That was a great gig from memory.
My favourite local gigs were always Frank White at the Pheasant in the 80's. He was amazing back then.
Best gig EVER to ths day was Stray cats at the Sheffield Lyceum in 1983.
Best gig other than already mentioned - lol was Dion DiMucci at the Town & Country Club. he blew me away. king Of The New York Streets.
Ahhh times to be remembered.
You only go around once y'know?
