| The When Rockabilly Ruled OK? documentary is to be aired again on BBC Radio 2 Tuesday 15th at 22.30. It was first aired (and discussed) last year but is worth a listen for anyone that missed it.Although it features the 'second coming' of Rockabilly, the influence and standing of the Stray Cats is as usual overlooked.Tommy explained at the time that Brian was approached but due to time constraints couldn't do an interview so the lazy BBC thought 'F**k it' and just ignored the biggest, most successful Rockabilly band in the world So it's filled with Crazy Cavan(great in their own right) etc and comes right up to date with the superb Jack Rabbit Slim. | Great show! i thought it really gave a good picture of how the whole rockin thing hit the UK and how it developed. With it being more "rockabilly scene" based im not so sure the cats had a major part to play. yes in general they did but as far as i know, the rockabilly scene was almost seperate top the cats at the time due to their success etc. Either way, give it a listen people, DARREL HIGHAM is on there too and a couple of other good artists!
