Is there not directly next to University a car park (pay!)?? Or do I mix it up with something else?

I will come over Stockport and pass Apollo, do I drive on the Apollo Roundabout to the left????? .... and then left again on the t-junction??

Any help would be great!!! I will be there on the day time as I want to walk about to see if I can meet the Stray Cats! Anyone wants to do the same??? Question Smile Shocked

Can anyone from Manchester recommend any good city centre hotels please - or hotels close to the venue? I'm bringing the missus so I will have to dig deep for something decent!!

Re Hotels

10-15 min walk from venue is The Palace -not bad -slightly expensive - there is also a Travel Inn or Travel Lodge -can't remember which on corner of Portland St and Oxford Rd which is again 15 min walk 5 min bus ride from the gig. top of the range is the Midland -about another two mins further away.

I used to work for Manchester Visitor info centre - if you give them a ring they will tell you what options are best and even book for you -often at a reduced rate for a fee of about 3.00. they get cancellations etc. can't remember tel no -need to look on internet etc.

'How was Yngwie'

It depends on your perspective - if you can enjoy it for what it it and not get hung up on the Spinal Tapesque elements then was excellent - although I wish he'd do more songs and not as much unaccompanied soloing etc - can't knock his ability though - I've been playing since 1973 and felt humbled by the insane level he can play at.

He should get together with Brian and swap solos on some of that Wolfgang stuff!

It's not really the Academy at the moment - is just main University Student Union building where I saw Cats first two times they came to Manchester way back when!

Would prefer them to be at Apollo re the higher and wider stage. As is now sold out they should offer more tickets and move it there!

...or on the back of ticket sales they should add extra dates in England!!!

Might have to wait until Jim does his Peru Rocks walk in October though?

Can I suggest the new Carling Academy Leeds opening this Autumn!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Stranglers, Rancid already booked.
