| This is kinda cool.....my husband who I call mr. wikipedia & mr. forum found this info on my car....ITS SO COOL!! From the wikipedia site: Regarding the car......." The 88 enjoyed a great success, inspiring a popular 1950s slogan, "Make a Date with a Rocket 88", and also a song, "Rocket 88", often considered the first rock and roll record." and regarding the song........."Rocket 88" is a rhythm and blues song that was first recorded at Sam Phillips' recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee, on 3 March or 5 March 1951 (accounts differ). It is claimed by some, including Phillips — later to become owner of Sun Records, and pioneer rock and roll record producer — to be the "first rock and roll song". That's so fuckin awesome!!!! No wonder I fell in love with it!!! Here is a YouTube link to the Ike Turner version of the song.

| I can't believe you bought that car without knowing the history of the song Rocket 88! It reminds me of the people who discover the BSO, and several months later find out about a little band known as Stray Cats. What a cool discovery for you!

| We had been looking at cars for a while, and when I saw this particular one, I fell in love with it for some reason. I guess I should have looked at more history, but knowing my luck ( lots of bad luck-found a whole horse skeleton in my back yard when we put a pool in ), I would not have found this car. So I guess it's an added bonus for us! | |

| It used to be all farm land where we live. I came home from work and the guys were taking the bones out of the ground. I thought "OH SHIT! They found some dinosaur or something & someone was going to come along and make it an archaeological dig site & we'd have to move or something. Thank god it was only a horse! They also found a HUGE irrigation pipe where we were putting the block wall fence up. I'll see you on Tuesday | |

| This is the last car I did any work on. It looks a lot different these days, but you get the idea.. 1958 Ford Ranchero owned by my buddy John John Jesse. Since this was taken, I pulled all the body trim off and filled it for a respray in suede black. She's also been lowered and bagged, and a new grille put in. Paint is by Krylon. This car is a driver. John John is a Rumblers NYC member, so you can catch this car at the 8th Annual Rumblers Kustom Kills and Hot Rod Thrills show in Brooklyn on August 23rd. | |
