This video is weird it looks like it was shot on the film stage for the labamba movie? I know Live Nude guitars was an 89 release. Judging from the hair this seems the era, however the stage throws me off, didn't Brian have much shorter hair when he played Eddie in the Labamba movie? I guess the question would be... Was Labama shot in 1988 or 1987 then released in 1989 or something?
On a side note, if you haven't youtube searched Eddie Cchran lateley,it sems someone has gratiously uploaded a bunch of rare early pre solo Eddie tracks. Back from when he was first in the Country group The Cochran Bros. , (the other Cochran in the group shared the same last name, but no realation).
Really cool stuff.

Great clip!
This was filmed on July 17, 1987 at The Palace in Hollywood, a private concert/party (I know because I tried to get in!) celebrating the release of the movie La Bamba (the soundtrack hit the racks on June 30, 2 weeks earlier).
The clip is from Mtv, which aired the concert as "La Bamba Rock & Roll Revue" with other artists including Marshall Crenshaw and Los Lobos closing the show. The other song that Setzer performed that night was Rebelene. And yes, that is Tommy Byrnes on bass.................

Man I love that song. In the video he dedicates it to Sharon Sheeley, who was not only Eddie's fiance but also an accomplished songwriter. Anybody know if there was a real person as the inspiration for Rebelene, or if she was entirely made up?

Those are awesome clips!
I did not realize Brian had the part of Eddie in "La Bamba." What an outtake am I? At least I have something to do this weekend! I learn something new every time I stop by this board!
I have a confession to make here though about "La Bamba." I knew the jest of the movie when my friends suggested we see it way back in the summer '87 (was it??). But I was literally scared out of my seat in the opening minutes of the movie and threw an entire bag of popcorn up & over my shoulder! It took us from disaster to laughing-so-hard-we-were-crying in about 2 seconds (at my expense). I remember the little children playing on the playground and the sound of jet engines, and then the screen lit up like a bomb and it was the plane crash scene I believe. That's exactly when I threw an entire bag of popcorn up & over my shoulder and jumped about 6 inches out of my theater seat. My friends laughed their asses off. I thought I was going to need a paramedic to restart my heart.
"La Bamba" good movie!! It had my attention from the beginning!!

Yeah, La Bamba came out in 1987. I lived in London for a while and I remember going to see Los Lobos , in Hammersmith on July 4th 1988.
