As a photographer, I love looking at other peoples' work. I started browsing around the 'net today looking at photos of Setz and the Cats. Thought I'd share some links (all caps are clickable):

Cats in 83 - great sunlight HERE
Brian in the mid 80's I'd guess. Love the flying water droplets HERE
2007 Cats concert gallery HERE
BSO Christmas show in my hometown HERE
BSO Christmas show 2007 with nice closeups and interesting critiques HERE

Of course, you never know what you'll find on flickr:
Hoodoo voodoo steak sandwich HERE
Good ol' 1983 HERE
Oh that HAIR
Like it was drawn for DISNEY
The profile we all know HERE

And the piece de resistance... a dude kneeling on a table choking a tattoo-less guy with a photoshopped Setz face HERE

So c'mon, lessee some of your faves! king

Oooh some very awesome shots there Andi! Oh just so ya know, that 'like it was drawn for disney' picture was actually drawn by Jshea who is a member of this forum! Check out his topic HERE from when he first showed us the drawing! Very Happy

As for photos I like - pretty much all of them rock.. anything with Brian in it is good to me, but in particular - Brian in kilts Razz

Thanks for sharing these great pics with us.

The pics of Brian (mid 80ies) are they from the "The Knife feels like justice" period?

No, definitely not! Show me show me! I don't believe I've ever seen his legs, full stop!! Very Happy

Brett, not sure about the mid 80s shots - Knife sounds about right though.

Just to be clear, none of these photos are mine- I've never had the pleasure to photograph Brian, though I'm hoping to one day! I did however get to shoot Lee and his band. Some of the best photos I've ever taken.

Kid, those are great- but I note you still don't really see any leg. I think he looks quite dashing!

lol!

You know, no matter how old I am or ever have been, the early 80s Cats have always looked like adults to me. Until seeing that photo for the first time just now. OH MY GOD THEY HAD SUCH SKINNY, PALE, HAIRLESS LEGS!!!! Very Happy

I'll never look at them the same again!! Not sure if I should thank you, sidelakebob Wink

I think I read somewhere that he caught that Marlin - it's called Brando or Marvin or something.. I don't know! Razz But yeah, pretty sure Brian caught it.

Those great photos of Brian in the rain "mid 80's" are from his
appearance at “FARM AID I” (Sept. 21, 1985 Univ. of Illinois, Champaign, IL)

He's backed by The Radiation Ranch, and you can see Tommy Byrnes in the background.

Tommy: is it Radiation Ranch, or The Radiation Ranch?

Sorry to interrupt the ogling of Brian's legs, but I have to ask a totally off-topic question:

Do any of you know anything about that unbelievable jukebox? Holy cow! It looks like it's from another planet or something!

Jup, That Wurlitzer was build by T.V. Jones for the 2007 BSO tour. From another planet? No, From the late 40s. Wink

The jukebox in the fish-kilt photo is NOT the one TV Jones built for the Winter Wolfieland tour. It is, however, gorgeous, and should be in my living room.

Perhaps it was the inspiration behind the song Jukebox from Vavoom!

Man, I was bang on with my date estimation then! Very Happy

Bear85, that was not ogling, that was respectful, intelligent discussion Razz

carboncat, we already met over in that other thread HERE, remember? I know, hard to keep everyone straight, I have that problem too Wink

Now, back to the topic at hand: who has cool Setzer/Cats photos to share??!?!

Does anyone (Tommy?) happen to know who the photographer was on this session, or does anyone (Tommy?) have any other images from it? I'm pretty certain this'd be 1981, and very likely somewhere around October when the Cats made their "Fridays" appearance. Thanks!!
