Now there is just wayyy too much talk with people saying " man, I wish they were gonna do the US. " or " I was hopeing for a US tour " and stuff like that. CAN ANYBODY CONFIRM that they have heard that there DEFINATLY Is'nt going to be a US tour by The Stray Cats. I mean , HOW COULD THEY LEAVE US OUT! Do they think that that dont have any American fans that just cant travel to other countrys. THAT DOESNT MEAN WE DONT WANT TO SEE THEM TOO =( So does anybody have any info on that or not? Tommy has always said he doesnt really know about it, just to hang tight and keep checking in, ( which I do ) but I just keep seeing post here and there insinuating that they know that they are not coming to the US this year. ANYBODY HAVE ANY INSIGHT IN THIS AT ALL. I would appreciate it more than you know !

Well they did kinda tour the US last year... that's gotta count for something!!

Mmmmm Noooo not really. YEAH ! They played all of 6 songs !!!! WOOO HOOOO! No, that was more like a guest appearence. LOL It was a few songs. If thier gonna do a full on concert then, they should do a full on concert in AMERICA too. >:/ My God the men ARE from New freakin York , thier really not gonna play here at all? I could see if they were from Europe or something , but what about us? =( Whys is seem like the US is being left out =(````
Not that I have anything against them playing Europe, totally happy for all the die hard fans out there that are lucky enough to get to see these cats, but Its like Hellooooooooo guyssss over here !!!! Remember your fans in the USA..... Holaa, HIII Were over here !!!! LOL Just seems kinda messed up if they dont come our way =(

I really think summer 09 we might see The Stray Cats American farewell tour. I hope so anyway.

i usually don't speak up like this, but...

I think we need to have some patience. They just announced this news a few weeks ago right? Wink

So there's all kinds of details, logistics, etc. to work out. Sure, there's all sorts of presale information about Europe, and that's great. Coming from the perspective of a fan who has never seen the Cats live, i admit i'm a little bummed that this is a farewell tour and theres only european dates so far. But I can appreciate that, hey, they're only 3 guys who love to play music, and all the other minutiae (venues, budget, promotors, etc.) has to be worked out before anything can be decided by Brian, Jim, and Lee, much less be announced to all of us. So, yeah.. I understand, but all these threads about them not coming here or there ought to be held off on... Plus, I think we have to reflect on how much these 3 great guys have given us fans, either together or solo, and be greatful for all the opportunities we've had to enjoy what they enjoy.

It has been announced that the Farewell (also called Farewell to Europe) tour will begin in Spain. Therefore, there are no dates ahead of Spain.

The Euro tour will run AT LEAST through mid-September.

The BSO Extravaganza Tour usually starts in mid-November.

That would leave a month to tour another part of the world before Brian has to get ready for the Xmas Xtravaganza and watch the Mets win the World Series.

I agree with Todd, all logic points to no Stray Cats tour in 2008. Perhaps in 2009.

On the other hand... Lee's touring calendar looks pretty open in June and July, as does Slim Jim's... Hey now!

At this moment, I would rely only on the information that has been presented. You know what they say: No news is, um, no news.

Well maybe Its not THIER fault , I guess the venues, budget, promotors as you said , does have to be worked out and taken into concideration, Im sure they will do whats best and whats possible for them to do , but yall are just gonna have to forgive me for being human and upset that thier not coming to the states, Cant help how I feel =(``` ya dig !

Im pretty sure there was about a year between the last european tour and the last American tour. Im really hoping and praying that the cats do a full show as headliners close to home. Foxwoods casino? The Beacon in N.y.c? I tried to get to a headliner show last year and just could not work it out. It was so great to see the guys play on long island but the set was probably 40-45 minutes . I hear the shows in the midwest were 2 hours.

WOW ! 2 HOURS??????????? MAN ! I swear when they were here in San Diego last year, I swear it was like teasing a crackhead with COKE ! They were by far THE BEST performers at that show, they put on the best show out of all the other artists there , THEY WERENT EVEN THE HEADLINERS FOR GODS SAKE! And they ROCKED THE WHOLE HOUSE ! Hands down, that show was THIERS ! But they only did a few songs because they werent the headliners, but I swear it left me so anxious to be able to see them again. ( NEVER THOUGHT THEY WOULD ) And then I hear that thier doing a " Farewell tour " and I almost peed my pants !!!!!!!!! I was on CLOUD 9 when I heard the news, and THEEEENNNNNNN..... It turns out they probably, most likely wont be playing the US... I am absolutely crushed! It just wasnt enough that ,last show in 07. they played like 6 songs. It was so sad when they walked off stage. It just wasnt enough. DAMN I HOPE THEY MAKE IT HERE...

In San Diego they played no less than 9 songs, quite a bit considering they shared the bill with at least 4 other bands. On their headliner shows in Green Bay, Kansas City, Santa Fe, and Reno, they delighted fans to setlists clocking in at nearly two hours. Those shows would not have happened without the Jackfest package tours as a catalyst to get them on the road in the first place. Hopefully some US promoter will see fit to back a tour with the Cats headlining. Certainly, a hugely successful European tour can't hurt.

I can only hope they will hit the road in the US in the next couple of years. But it's been at least more than 15 years since they did a US and Euro tour in the same year. No tours after 1992 until 2004, when they toured Europe only. Three years later, in 2007, there was the package tour of the US only. What I'm saying is, based on recent history, it may be unrealistic to expect a Stray Cats tour of the US in 2008, especially in light of the upcoming BSO Christmas tour. That doesn't make it wrong to wish for one. Whenever it happens, I'm sure you'll agree it was worth the wait.

I'm just kicking back with a Glenlivet and watching (or reading) all of these Cats and kittens getting really passionate about their beloved Stray Cats... It's great.

Like the TV Times, I never knew there was so much in it.

I wonder when Brian, Jim & Lee realised that, in actual fact they were nothing to do with the STray Cats... We own 'em - lol!

Brian, Jim, Lee - we'll let you know when you're retiring. We'll let you know when the US farewell tour is. Just keep checking back for your itinery, and we'll inform you of your destiny.

I agree Rick ! I know your right , It just hurts to admitt. No one understands how much this tour meant to me, it was like an answered prayer or a wish come true or something, when I heard they were gonna do a tour , My heart almost stoped beating for a min. ! And to find out that they're not coming here just kills me man ! I dont think Ive ever been this disapointed about anything in my life. I could just cry. Yall are just gonna have to bare with me =(```

You know what it is mostly . Its KNOWING that somewhere else on the planet, Tons of people are gonna be rockin out to MY FAVORITE BAND SINCE I WAS 4 YEARS OLD, and Im going to be home listening to thier CD. They will be having a rockin night with MY FAV BAND, and Ill be home like a sap crying ! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ! I wanna go so bad =(````

At risk of irritating US members - surely if they are only doing one more tour it should be in Europe -UK in particular as we were the first country to embrace them - they made it here before anywhere else in the world don't forget! (I am in Manchester, England by the way).

it would be nice if the came to the us. i tried to see them in denver last summer and our car broke down so i missed most of their performance. fortunately i was lucky enough to czatch their last number but was completly out of breath from running to the gates.

anyway, i'm not sure if i'd take the name 'farewell tour' seriously. i think some bands just use this name to sell more tickets. why the sudden need for a break up anyway?

Yeah ! Were just gonna do it ! I told him , Im like thier biggest female fan, I cant miss this show ! Its not everyday that they do this so I just gotta do it , Its not an option to miss it. My hunny is fine with it cuz he loves the Cats too, and loves England, and Morrissey , supposedly thats where hes from !!! lLOL So Hes real happy about the England thing too. So Im on my way ! But we tried to order the tickets off of the tour dates page and cant do it . How do I get the tickets for England . Needless to say , Im not used to purchasing tickets OFF OF THE NET .LOL And I will check out the Ace cafe?... ( Seeing as we will be there for 5 days ) Thanks for the tip G-Man *=) I cant wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah one more thing , Cant remember who posted this but , I agree, whats up with this break up, farewell tour thing , WHY IS there a sudden need for a farewell all of the sudden ? Good question!
